About Us

At Blooming Prairie we treat land management as more than a business, it is a responsibility. We are dedicated to providing a service that regards environmental stewardship as our top priority. By utilizing a combination of timeless gardening techniques and proven all-natural products, Blooming Prairie ensures a healthy and beautiful garden environment. We are commited to not only help your garden grow, we will help it flourish.

Creating balanced, sustainable landscapes allows us to offer our clients a way to get the most out of their property while also giving something back. By improving their property we also aim to improve their lives and the world as a whole. Integrating subtle changes to traditional landscape design, technique, material and philosophy can convert what traditionally has been too often a drain on our environmental resources into vital pockets of restoration and beauty

JasonSmart and creative design can eliminate the majority of landscape problems before they emerge. Blooming Prairie strives to create drought tolerant, low maintenance landscapes that are pleasing to the eye and all other senses as well. We can create and implement designs in a wide variety of styles with emphasis on incorporating native cultivars and plants suitable to the climate of the Great Plains. [Check out the Collage page!]

Each season brings with it different tasks, climate changes, pests and pathogens to watch for. Establishing a healthy garden environment certainly requires effort, however, it is our goal to create landscapes that are as self-sustaining as possible given the individual circumstances. Blooming Prairie provides an array of gardening services to handle the chores, monitor and find solutions for problems, or simply to consult for those who want to do it themselves but appreciate some good advice.

Words of Wisdom

“By working with living processes, we respect the need of all species while meeting our own. Engaging in processes that regenerate rather than deplete, we become more alive... De-natured environments ignore our need and our potential for learning. Making natural cycles and processes visible brings the designed environment back to life. Effective design helps inform us of our place within nature.”

Sim Van Der Ryn, chairman of the Ecological Design Institute.
